Every IGL Aegis application at Top Down Detailing follows a meticulous 5-step process — no shortcuts, no guesswork.
We hoist your vehicle and inspect the entire underbody — chassis rails, suspension, diff housings, floor pan. Any existing surface rust is treated before we proceed.
A thorough decontamination with high-pressure wash and degreaser removes all mud, grime, salt and oils. The surface must be spotless for Aegis to bond correctly.
Any active surface rust is treated chemically or mechanically before coating. Applying Aegis over rust-free metal ensures maximum adhesion and longevity.
We apply two layers of IGL Aegis at 50μm per layer, reaching 100μm total — the optimal thickness for full protection. The self-levelling formula ensures even coverage in every cavity and crevice.
The coating cures to a clear, semi-gloss finish. We inspect every coated surface before returning your vehicle — ready for anything Canberra or the outback can throw at it.
