Toyota HiLux Detailing Canberra.
Why HiLuxes come to us
Usually to undo a few years of hard work.
The HiLux has a different profile to most utes we see. A lot of them arrive as genuine trade vehicles with three or four years of site work behind them, and the owner wants it presentable again rather than protected from new.
That changes the job. Instead of protecting fresh paint, we are usually removing things that should never have been left on it: concrete splatter, render, overspray, tar, and tree sap that has been baking into the clear coat over a Canberra summer.
The other common reason is resale. HiLuxes hold their money better than almost anything else on the road, and presentation makes a real difference to what a buyer will pay. Getting one properly detailed before it goes up for sale is usually money back.
The work
Decontaminate, correct, then protect.
Decontamination. This is the stage that does the heavy lifting on a work HiLux. Chemical decontamination and clay to pull embedded contamination out of the paint, plus targeted removal of concrete, render and overspray where it has bonded on.
Correction. Older HiLux paint, particularly the whites and silvers that have lived outside, oxidises and goes flat. A cut and polish brings the gloss back. We measure paint depth first, because a truck that has been through a few cheap machine polishes may not have much clear coat left to give.
Protection. Once corrected, a ceramic coating makes the next few years far easier. On a vehicle that gets hosed down rather than carefully washed, a coating is the difference between dirt sitting on the surface and dirt bonding to it.
Interior. Mud, dust and spilled coffee through rubber mats and cloth seats. Full extraction as part of an interior detail.
Before you sell
Presentation is worth real money on a HiLux.
If you are listing a HiLux privately, the difference between a quick wash and a proper detail routinely shows up in the offers you get. Buyers read a clean engine bay and sharp paint as evidence the truck was looked after mechanically too.
We are happy to work to a sale timeline and focus effort where it changes the photos and the walk around: paint gloss, wheels, tub, and the cabin.
We work on SR, SR5, Rogue and Workmate, single cab through dual cab. Indicative pricing is listed by service, and we confirm a firm number after seeing the truck.
Common questions
Toyota HiLux FAQs.
In most cases yes. Concrete, render and overspray need chemical and mechanical removal rather than washing, and how much comes off depends on how long it has been there and whether it has etched into the clear coat. We assess it before quoting.
Usually. Oxidised paint on older utes responds well to a cutting stage followed by a finishing polish. We measure paint depth first, because there is a limit to how many times a panel can be corrected before there is not enough clear coat left.
Generally yes. HiLuxes hold value well, and presentation has a real effect on what buyers offer and how quickly it sells. We can prioritise the work that shows most in photos and in person.
Yes, on request. It matters more than people expect on a resale vehicle, because buyers treat a clean bay as a sign the truck has been maintained properly.
